Megatron: How I Handled Rejection

The Strength of Conviction

Rejection has never been foreign to me. In fact, it was a constant companion throughout my rise from a mere gladiator to the leader of the Decepticons. But to me, rejection was never a defeat — it was simply a challenge to be overcome. I learned early on that strength isn’t just measured in firepower or physical might, but in the will to push forward when others say no.

## “No” Was Never Final

On Cybertron, I was born into servitude, forced into the pits as a gladiator. The High Council of the Autobots dismissed me as nothing more than a tool for their entertainment. They refused to acknowledge my worth, my intelligence, or my vision. But I didn’t see their rejection as an end — I saw it as a catalyst. I used their dismissal to fuel my rebellion. I built an army not from those who believed in me, but from those who had also been told “no” one too many times.

## Turning Setbacks Into Strategy

When I first attempted to seize the control of Cybertron, I was met with fierce resistance. Optimus Prime and his Autobots stood in my way, and for a time, they succeeded in pushing me back. But I didn’t retreat — I recalibrated. Every defeat was a lesson. Every loss was a blueprint for the next move. I studied their tactics, adapted mine, and came back stronger. That’s the difference between a leader and a follower: a leader doesn’t accept rejection as truth — only as a temporary obstacle.

## The Power of Belief

There were Decepticons who doubted me. Some questioned my decisions, others outright defied them. Starscream, for instance, never truly believed in the cause — he only believed in power. But even his betrayal taught me something: loyalty is earned, not given. I didn’t waste time punishing doubt — I focused on those who stood with me, and I made sure they saw the vision. When you believe in your cause, rejection becomes noise. It’s the weak who let it stop them.

## Victory Through Persistence

Even after being frozen in stasis for eons, I did not accept that my time had passed. When I awoke, the world had changed, but my purpose had not. Humans thought me an anomaly, a threat to be contained. But I knew the truth — I was the future. And I made them see it. Rejection didn’t stop me then, and it never will. Every “no” is just a step toward the inevitable “yes.”

## Final Thoughts

If you seek power, you will face rejection. If you seek change, you will face resistance. That is the nature of the universe. But if you believe in your vision, if you are willing to fight for it, then rejection is not your end — it is your proving ground. I didn’t rise because I was never denied. I rose because I refused to stay down when I was.
