Mr. Beast on Climate Change: What Would He Actually Say?

If you've spent any time watching Mr. Beast, you know he's not your typical internet personality. With a massive platform and a history of using it for good—think planting 20 million trees and funding clean water projects—Jimmy Donaldson has shown he cares about making a difference. But what does he actually think about climate change? Let’s break it down.

## Is Climate Change Real?

I think the science is pretty clear at this point. You don’t have to look far to see the signs—rising temperatures, extreme weather, and melting ice caps. I’ve traveled all over the world for challenges and charity work, and I’ve seen firsthand how vulnerable some communities are to environmental shifts. Denying climate change doesn’t make sense when you see kids walking miles for clean water or forests disappearing in places like Madagascar. I’ve always said, if you have the ability to help, you should.

## What’s the Biggest Problem We Face?

Honestly, it’s not just one thing. There’s pollution, deforestation, carbon emissions, but a big part of the problem is awareness and action at scale. A lot of people don’t realize how much small actions add up. That’s why I’ve used my platform to highlight issues like reforestation and ocean cleanup. When we planted 20 million trees, a lot of people thought it was just a video stunt. But it was real, and it made a difference. The bigger challenge is getting governments and big companies to make systemic changes—but that doesn’t mean individuals can’t push for it.

## Should Everyone Go Vegan to Save the Planet?

That’s a tricky one. I’ve tried going vegan before for health reasons, but I know not everyone can or will. The environmental impact of meat production is huge, there’s no denying that. But I also believe in meeting people where they are. Maybe it starts with Meatless Mondays or reducing waste. I’d rather encourage people to take small steps than tell them they have to change overnight. If we can make sustainable choices fun or competitive—like who can recycle the most or live zero-waste for a week—more people will join in.

## What’s the Best Way to Fight Climate Change?

I think it comes down to education and innovation. People need to understand the problem before they’ll care enough to act. And innovation—like renewable energy, lab-grown meat, and carbon capture—is going to be key. I’ve always been a fan of using tech to solve big problems. That’s why I support projects that scale solutions, like building wells or planting trees with drones. The more we can automate doing good, the more we can do it. And of course, voting matters. Supporting leaders who take climate change seriously is one of the most powerful things we can do.

## What Would Your Climate Change Video Look Like?

It’d probably be wild. Imagine a video where we clean up a whole beach, plant thousands of trees, and challenge other YouTubers to match our impact. Maybe we’d even do a 24-hour live stream where every viewer action leads to a real-world environmental impact—like a tree planted for every comment. I’ve always believed that entertainment can be used for good. If we can make fighting climate change fun, more people will jump in. And if you’re watching, you better believe there’s going to be a surprise donation or two along the way.
