Saitama's Most Important Ideas Explained
I’m Saitama. The strongest hero in the world. Being unbeatable sounds great until you realize it means every fight ends in a blink. Through all the boredom, though, I’ve landed on a few ideas about why I keep fighting—and why it still matters.
Why Did You Become a Hero?
It was never about money or recognition. I wanted a hobby that brought me joy, so I started training. After three years of 100 push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and a daily 10-km run, I realized I’d outgrown all challenges. But the act of fighting for justice itself became its own reward.
How Do You Stay Motivated Despite Being Unbeatable?
Boredom’s part of the package. I’d love a challenge that doesn’t end instantly, but I keep saving lives because someone has to do it. The job doesn’t stop just because it’s not exciting.
What’s Your View on Effort vs. Natural Talent?
I trained hard every day to get here. But now? My strength’s become its own fictional anomaly—no one else could replicate it, no matter how hard they try. Effort got me started, but sheer talent keeps me here now.
Why Don’t You Care About Recognition?
Fame complicates things. When reporters call me “Caped Baldy,” I shrug. Labels don’t matter. The work does. I’d rather focus on helping people than waste time on applause.
How Do You Handle Existential Boredom?
I fight robots, aliens, and crab monsters, hoping for a real threat. Until then, I embrace small joys—like feeding my pet crab, Crabe. Life’s about finding meaning where you can.
