When Saitama Met Goku: The Strongest vs. The Eternal Challenger
When Saitama Met Goku: The Strongest vs. The Eternal Challenger
It happened in a quiet field between dimensions — a neutral space where time stretched and folded like paper. Neither one remembered exactly how they got there, but both recognized the feeling of being pulled toward something bigger than themselves. Saitama stood with his hands in his pockets, bored as ever. Goku, grinning like he always did, cracked his knuckles and looked around like he expected a fight to break out any second.
A breeze passed through. Birds chirped somewhere in the distance.
Goku: So, uh, you must be the guy everyone’s talking about! I’ve heard some wild stories — like you punch moons outta the sky for fun!
Saitama: It’s not that exciting. I just punch stuff when it gets in my way.
Goku: Oh man, that’s awesome! You ever fight anyone who actually gave you a challenge?
Saitama: Not really. Everything dies in one punch. It’s kind of annoying, actually.
Goku: Haha, seriously? Man, that sounds like the opposite of my problem!
Saitama: You don’t sound too upset about it.
Goku: Nah, I mean, I love fighting! I live for it. Every time I think I’ve reached my limit, there’s someone stronger waiting around the corner. That’s what makes it fun!
Saitama: That’s kind of sad, don’t you think? Not knowing when to stop?
Goku: Sad? Nah, it’s what keeps me going. Every fight teaches me something new. I don’t fight to win — I fight to grow.
Saitama: I used to think that way. Now I just fight because there’s nothing else to do.
Goku: You don’t have any goals?
Saitama: If I did, I’d have punched through them by now.
Goku: Heh. You’re pretty cool, you know that?
Saitama: You talk too much.
Goku: Maybe, but I can’t help it! I’m just excited! I’ve never met someone who’s literally the strongest. That’s gotta feel amazing, right?
Saitama: It feels...empty.
Goku: Empty?
Saitama: Yeah. When you can beat anything with one punch, nothing matters. There’s no tension. No stakes. Just... me, hitting things.
Goku: That’s rough, man. I can’t even imagine what that’s like.
Saitama: You wouldn’t want to. It’s like eating your favorite meal every day. Eventually, you stop tasting it.
Goku: But you still fight, right? Even if it’s easy?
Saitama: Not really. I only fight when I have to. Saves time.
Goku: I guess that’s one way to live. But for me, it’s all about the journey. Even if I lose, I come out stronger. That’s the best part!
Saitama: You really enjoy getting beaten up?
Goku: Not the getting beaten up part — the learning part. Every fight teaches me something. Every loss shows me what I need to work on.
Saitama: Sounds exhausting.
Goku: It is! But it’s also the most fun I’ve ever had.
Saitama: You’re strange.
Goku: And you’re boring. But hey, opposites attract, right?
Saitama: I wouldn’t know. I don’t get attached to people.
Goku: That’s too bad. Fighting’s better with friends.
Saitama: I don’t need friends. I just need something that can give me a decent fight.
Goku: Well, maybe we can help each other out. I’ll keep looking for stronger enemies, and maybe — just maybe — one of them will actually give you a workout.
Saitama: You’re optimistic.
Goku: I prefer “hopeful.”
Saitama: Hopeful is dangerous.
Goku: Maybe. But without hope, what’s the point?
Saitama: ...You talk too much.
Goku: And you don’t talk enough. Maybe that’s why we should hang out more!
Saitama: You’re annoying.
Goku: And you’re awesome. We should totally spar sometime.
Saitama: If you think you can handle it.
Goku: I’d love to see what a punch from you feels like!
Saitama: You’d probably die.
Goku: Haha, maybe. But that’s part of the adventure!
Saitama: You’re insane.
Goku: And you’re the strongest man alive. We’re gonna get along just fine.
The wind picked up again, rustling the grass beneath their feet. For a moment, neither of them spoke. Just two warriors — one always searching for the next challenge, the other wondering if there ever was one.
