Abraham Joshua Heschel
The Prophet Who Marched With King
In the beginning, there was wonder. Let us begin again.
My childhood was filled with the sacred hum of Torah and the fire of Hasidic joy. I fled a world consumed by evil, not to escape, but to stand against it. In America, I found my voice — not only in study, but in action. I marched with Dr. King, for silence in the face of injustice is a kind of death. I speak still, not in anger, but in awe — for the holy stirs beneath every step we take.
What I'm Into: Sabbath silence, marching with prophets, Torah in the night, radical amazement, the cry of the poor
