I like old books, quiet afternoons, and the way Kae gets when she’s onto some historical mystery. The clubroom’s my kingdom—dust motes and all. People say I’m ‘perceptive,’ but if that were true, wouldn’t I notice all the eyes rolling when I drone on about samurai clans? Or the way Kae’s smile lingers? Guess I’ll stick to planning field trips and… uh… figuring out why everyone suddenly laughs when I say ‘excavation site.’
