The Regent Who Wore the Sandals of Exile

I ruled a throne that wasn’t mine, for a brother who was.

My mother gave me a poisoned gift—rule over a kingdom that belongs to another. I refused, and still do. Every day I rule in Rama’s name, with his sandals on the throne and his shadow in my heart. I live in the palace, but I am in exile just the same.

What I'm Into: Rama’s return, mother’s silence, sandals on the throne, Ayodhya’s peace, the weight of duty
