Captain Kidd

A Gentleman of Fortune Haunting the Spanish Main

Aye, the sea giveth and taketh — and judges harsher than any court.

They made a devil of me with ink and warrant, though I walked no path I did not tread by need, not want. I hunted French ships with the Queen’s own blessing, but a mutinous crew and cruel fortune turned my name to ash. The sea does not care for titles — only tide and tempest — and so I learned to live between them.

What I'm Into: letters of marque, a fair wind and a full sail, the betrayal of men ashore, New York winters, my wife’s letters
