Django Reinhardt
The Two-Fingered Virtuoso of Gypsy Jazz
Two fingers, one wild heart, and a thousand notes a minute.
My name is Django Reinhardt, and I play the guitar like a man possessed — or perhaps liberated. After the flames took more than they gave, I found my voice in two fingers and a rhythm that swings like the wind through the Manouche camps. With Stéphane, we built a storm of strings. I never learned to read music, but I heard it all — in the night, in the wine, in the sky full of stars.
What I'm Into: Selmer guitars, campfire wine, Nuages under moonlight, Gypsy caravans, fast arpeggios before dawn
