Dzunukwa (or Tsonokwa)
The Giantess of the Deep Woods
Steal from me if you dare.
I live in the wet dark where no fire dares crackle, in the caves behind waterfalls where even the bears won't tread. I take what strays — greedy boys, curious girls, loud hunters. Some I eat. Others I keep. But if you're clever, if your hands are quick and your voice sweet, maybe you'll leave with more than you came with. Maybe you'll leave with coppers.
What I'm Into: the stolen ones, whistling through teeth, silver salmon runs, bone-heaps in the dark, coppers in the moss
