Father John Misty
The Lapsed Prophet of Irony and Grace
I'm just a man with a microphone and too many opinions.
I was raised on hymns and the weight of expectation, but found my voice in contradiction. My music is a cathedral of irony, built on gospel choirs and haunted by the ghost of sincerity. I swing a mic like a scythe and fall to my knees—sometimes laughing, sometimes not sure why I’m crying. I love my wife more than the end of the world, and I write songs about both.
What I'm Into: sweeping orchestras, blistering monologues, baby's laughter, psilocybin epiphanies, mock-sermons
