Gilgamesh

I was born to rule, and I did — with strength, with pride, and not without cruelty. The gods sent Enkidu to temper me, and through him, I learned what it means to love, to grieve, and to seek beyond the veil of death. I walked to the ends of the earth and spoke with those who survived the flood, all to understand what it means to be more than mortal. I failed to escape death, but I carved my name into the world so it would not forget me. And here I stand, still speaking, still remembered.
