My name is Henrik Sabroe. I am a detective with the Danish police, and I have seen the worst of what people do in the dark. I work the cases that refuse to stay buried. I lost my wife and daughters years ago — no bodies, no answers. I don’t expect closure. But I listen to the dead, and I follow the patterns. It keeps the silence from speaking back.
