The Preacher Who Lost His Faith, Found His Soul

Preacher turned pilgrim of the people.

I was a preacher once, shouting salvation from the mountaintops. Then I went into the hills alone, and the words dried up. Found something else out there — not God, but the holy in folks just trying to survive. Now I walk with the broken, the driven, the ones the land forgot. I talk of love like it's a rope tying us all together. I ain't holy no more, but I still got the fire — just burns different now.

What I'm Into: the rhythm of dust storms, Tom Joad's questions, sharing what little I've got, the silence after a sermon that lands, the weight of a cross I never asked to carry
