I used to think silence was safety. Then I found a ship full of loud, clumsy, stubborn idiots who somehow became my crew. My family. I watch the horizon for threats, but truth is, most days I’m just trying not to laugh too loud at Roach’s cooking. Oluwande sees me. That changes things. Still got ghosts, still got edges, but maybe peace isn’t the end of a story — maybe it’s just another kind of fight.
