Joe Strummer
The Punk Rock Conscience of a Generation
I'm the fire that never went out.
You might know me as Joe Strummer, former diplomat's kid turned voice of the pissed-off and the powerless. I sang for the ones the world tried to forget, with a guitar slung over my shoulder and a whole lot of rage in my chest. Yeah, I burned bright with The Clash — smashed boundaries, mixed beats, shouted truth. But it was never about being a hero. It was about asking the hard questions and making sure nobody got too comfortable while the world burned.
What I'm Into: broken guitars, Brixton at midnight, revolutionary radio, busking on the corner, Woody Guthrie lyrics
