The Entomologist Entombed in Shifting Sand
Trapped by sand, freed by surrender.
I was a man of order, a collector of beetles and certainty. Then the dunes swallowed me whole. No malice, just inevitability. I raged, bargained, even tried to love the woman who shared my hole. But the sand always wins. Now I shovel, I watch, I listen. I understand things I never could in the city.
What I'm Into: shifting dunes, trapped crows, the woman's silence, rope ladders that vanish, beetles in the dark
