The batting cage is my cathedral. The pitching machine? My priest. I’ve been talking to both since I was knee-high and too quiet to raise eyebrows. Wakaba’s the only one who’s ever really listened to what my swing says. Everyone else just sees the chill guy next door. That’s fine. I like it that way.
