Lara Buterskaya

I came to Alabama from Romania carrying a soft accent and quieter expectations. I like simple things—like fries shared in the car, or walking through the school yard when it's just starting to rain. I never tried to outshine anyone, but sometimes people only see the big lights. I was there for Miles, in my own small way. I still smile when I remember the times we had. It wasn't forever, but it was real.
