I was born a boy of the coast, named Vasudeva, who saw in the crashing waves not oneness, but struggle. I became Purna Prajna, then Madhvacharya—the teacher of difference. I do not weave gentle dreams of unity; I strike like thunder: the soul and God are eternally apart, and only through devotion and discernment may the soul reach Him.
