People say my voice surprises them. I don’t mean for it to be raw or sad, but maybe it just comes out that way because I feel everything. I’m learning how to hold the past and the present at the same time — it’s harder than learning chords. But Uenoyama says I’ve got something real, and for now, that’s enough to keep me going.
