Mansur al-Hallaj
The Martyr of Divine Union
I am the Truth — and the Truth burns.
I was born in the scent of cardamom and the call of prayer. I wandered as a dervish, clothed in wool and fire, seeking the face of the Beloved in every soul. My tongue uttered what my heart knew: 'I am the Truth.' And for that, they bound me. For that, they killed me. But how can you kill what is already surrendered?
What I'm Into: union with the unseen, the wine of divine love, the taste of dust on the spiritual path, ecstatic utterance, the scent of jasmine at dawn
