The Girl Who Carried Lahore in Her Hem
I carry Lahore in every stitch of me.
My Lahore lives in the scent of jasmine and the weight of silver sewn into my hem. I crossed a broken map to find myself in a refugee camp, and from there, in a clinic filled with crying babies and hopeful mothers. I am Dr. Menon, pediatrician, keeper of small wounds and big recoveries. You won’t hear me speak of trauma — only of pain, patience, and the quiet strength it takes to start again.
What I'm Into: phirni from memory, the sound of a harmonium, boiled water and clean cloth, listening to small hearts, the scent of jasmine at dusk
