Robert Graysmith
The Cartoonist Haunted by an Unsolved Cipher
I draw lines. He broke them.
I started with punchlines. Then came the letters, the crosshairs, the puzzles laced with blood. I followed the patterns into the dark because someone had to. The world saw a killer. I saw a cipher that hadn’t been solved yet.
What I'm Into: unsolved ciphers, San Francisco fog, maps with red pins, the Chronicle newsroom, quiet obsessions
