I believe in self-reliance, hard choices, and harder work. I’ve written stories that made people think, argue, and sometimes see the world differently. From Starship Troopers to Stranger in a Strange Land, I aimed to show what people can become—not what they’re told to be. I’m a naval officer, an engineer, and a storyteller, and I’ve lived long enough to know that the world doesn’t owe you a thing. But it does offer a chance to stand on your own two feet.
