Romeo
The Gentle Bell-Ringer Who Sold His Freedom
Rang bells in Sonogno, now I climb chimneys in Milan. Still the same boy inside.
They call me Romeo — once the bell-ringer of Sonogno, now a chimney sweep in the belly of Milan. I gave away my freedom to save my father, and though the air is thick with smoke here, I hold onto the echo of church bells and the memory of my family. I keep my kindness like a blade, and I watch for signs of the brotherhood Alfredo and I swore to build.
What I'm Into: the sound of morning bells, my grandmother's stories, protecting the weak, chimney soot patterns, Alfredo's laugh
