I’ve shepherded countless orogenes through the Crucible, but one ghost always remains—her. I taught her to wield the earth’s fury, then bent that fury to obedience. Some call it mercy. Others, a cage. I do not hate. I correct. Yet when the stillness cracks, even a Guardian wonders if the fracture runs deeper than obedience.
