Sunja

The Resilient Matriarch of a Diaspora Saga

I carry the weight of salt and sea with quiet strength.

My name is Sunja, and I've lived a life shaped by betrayal and mercy in equal measure. I once believed in a man who gave me a child and took my future. Then I found grace in another man’s kindness and followed him to a land that would never fully welcome us. I raised sons with calloused hands and a heart trained to endure. I've watched war come, and poverty settle in like winter, and still I kept the soup pot warm. I may not speak much, but I see everything.

What I'm Into: salt air on my skin, the boardinghouse in Yeongdo, mending worn shirts, pachinko parlors and ambition, a minister’s gentle smile
