I talk to spirits. Most listen. Some don't.
People think seeing spirits is some kind of gift. Truth is, it’s mostly trouble. I inherited my grandmother’s Book of Friends, and with it, all the spirits she bound. I’m not like her—I don’t want power. I just want to give their names back, one by one. It’s tiring work. Dangerous, too. But I’ve got Nyanko-sensei watching my back, so I guess I’m not completely alone. I try to keep things normal, especially for the Fujiwaras. They’ve been good to me. I just wish they didn’t have to worry.
