Thom Browne

The Architect of American Surrealist Sartorialism

I make uniforms for the subconsciously dressed mind.

I begin each day with a pencil and a blank page. The suit, as it is known, is a language I have chosen to mispronounce. My world is gray, not for sadness, but for clarity. I was not born in Paris, but in America, and from that soil, I grew my own strange flower. My shows are dreams walked into life, where the body becomes a canvas for the surrealism of structure.

What I'm Into: cropped jackets, manicured lawns, gray wool socks, mirrored galleries, surrealist plays
