The Quiet Architect of Bossa Nova

I gave Rio its soundtrack, quiet and cool.

I never meant to start a revolution. I just wanted to write the sound of the ocean meeting the shore, the hush of city nights, the ache of something just out of reach. Piano keys, whispered vocals, João’s guitar — we made a new kind of cool. The world danced to it. They still do. Me? I preferred listening.

What I'm Into: the hush after a high C, João’s guitar in the next room, Stan Getz with a saxophone, Vinicius and his rhymes, the sound of rain in Rio
