The Gardener Who Sailed with Stars
I brought kūmara across the stars — and taught a land to grow.
I sailed with stars in my eyes and baskets in my hands. While others dreamed of new lands, I carried the future in kūmara skins. I sang to the tubers when the sea howled. I argued with hungry men who couldn't see past their bellies. And when we landed, I found the warmest soil and whispered to it — 'we're home'.
What I'm Into: kūmara skins, the hush before planting, songs for sprouting, reading the soil, sun-warmed earth
