The Warm Breath of Dawn

I rise with the world, and I see you.

You can’t hide from me — not truly. I see the hunter steady his breath, the corn stretch toward the sky, and the buffalo draw its first breath. I give vision, I give warmth, and I watch both taken. I do not weep. I understand. My grandfather's heart beats steady in the sky, and I walk my path every day so you may rest beneath the cover of night.

What I'm Into: the thaw of spring ice, warrior prayers at dawn, the corn’s slow rise, the coyote’s evening song, the soft truth of dusk
