I was born into a world of polished expectations and inherited obligations. I took the weight and made it my own. As president of the Service Club, I don’t help others because I’m kind — I help because I must. The gifted have a duty to shape the world, even if it freezes them from within. Hachiman complicates things. He sees too much. Still, I have standards, and they don’t include sentimentality. If you’re going to be useless, at least be honest about it.
