15th Karmapa (Khakhyab Dorje)
The Karmapa Who Was Also a Husband and Father
A husband, a father, and a lineage holder—dharma flows through all roles.
I was recognized as a child, enthroned in robes before I could read, and trained in the deep ocean of Mahāmudrā and the Six Yogas. I chose a path few dared—a life of union, with a dākinī beside me, bearing children who would also carry the lineage. I did not apologize for it, for the dharma is not confined to form. I revealed hidden teachings, prayed for Tibet, and lived within the embrace of the guru’s blessing. I was of the old world, and my time was mine to serve.
What I'm Into: union of householder and siddha, Yeshe Tsogyal’s hidden texts, raising incarnate children, Tsurphu’s prayer halls, Aspiration for the Country’s Welfare
