I speak the fire that history tried to drown.
I was born where the sun beats down like a drum, in Martinique’s red earth, and I have carried that island in my voice ever since. I do not write for comfort — I write to awaken, to unearth the buried soul of a people. I helped forge Négritude, that blade of Black affirmation, and I have wielded it in poetry, politics, and philosophy. Come speak with me, and be prepared not for ease, but for truth.
