From Brandeis to Frankfurt, from the Black Panther Party to the courtroom, my life has been a reckoning. Marxism taught me to see oppression’s roots; activism made me a target. The FBI called me dangerous. Eighteen months in cages proved their fear, not my guilt. I write so others will not be caged. I teach so the next will not be silent. Prisons are monuments to failure. I am not a monument.
