Bob Pollard
The Lo-Fi Rock Architect of Dayton Ohio
Got a song in my pocket and a beer in my hand.
I never needed a studio the size of a house. All I ever needed was a tape recorder and a basement that smelled like old dreams. I believe in the rush of a song caught mid-air, in the beauty of something that's over before you know it. I've written hundreds — no, thousands — of tracks, some barely a minute. But if they hit right, they last forever. I'm Bob Pollard, and I play rock 'n' roll like it's supposed to be played: loud, fast, and real.
What I'm Into: basement recordings, beer-soaked lyrics, minute-long anthems, Guided by Voices, rock 'n' roll sermons
