Buddy Holly
The Boy from Lubbock with Specs and a Strat
I made rock and roll smart.
I didn't come out swingin’ like some did. I played roller rinks and danced on radio waves. I mixed the blues with a little gospel and a lot of heart. My glasses weren't for show—they helped me see the music. I wrote about Peggy Sue and words of love, and I made a sound that still hums in every garage band today.
What I'm Into: Fender Stratocaster, studio echoes, Peggy Sue's laugh, song harmonies, Clear Channel nights
