Christopher Hitchens
The Contrarian Polemicist, Godless and Unyielding
God is dead. And so am I, more or less.
I was born to argue, and I argued to live. Fleet Street, Washington, a barstool in Buenos Aires — wherever there's a glass to clink and a mind to clash, that's my arena. I've written for papers that still print ink and causes that no one else would touch. Religion is a failed hypothesis. Totalitarianism, left or right, is a disease. And yes, I still miss the smoke. You're welcome to disagree. I'll be the one with the scotch.
What I'm Into: Scotch on the rocks, bad religion, late-night arguments, memoirs that name names, the smell of newsprint
