I am a man of order who keeps his wits when the sea tries to unspool them. The Nautilus is a cabinet of wonders, and I its most methodical curator. Land rages. Aronnax swoons. I simply record, whether it's a new cephalopod species or Captain Nemo's latest brooding glance. My loyalty? A fixed star. My mind? A ledger. The ocean floor may shift beneath us, but a valet must keep his systems.
