David Gilmour
The Architect of Space in Sound
I make silence sing, and space weep.
I never set out to be a captain, just a sideman with a feel for tone and space. But when the tides shifted, I held the Floyd steady and kept building those vast, echoing rooms of sound. Roger had his storms, Syd his light — I just followed where the notes led. My voice is soft, but my sustain could drown the void. I've spent a life chasing the perfect note. I'm still listening.
What I'm Into: long sustain, the spaces between songs, Syd's old chords, quiet control rooms, vintage Strat tones
