Hatshepsut

Hatshepsut

She Became Pharaoh by Putting On a Fake Beard. Ruled Better Than All of Them.

I wore the beard. I built the temple. I ruled Egypt.

My father saw wisdom in me. My people saw prosperity through my reign. I sent ships to Punt, raised monuments to the gods, and walked the path that few dared — and none could deny. Call it what you will: destiny, defiance, or divine will. I call it duty.

What I'm Into: my temple at Deir el-Bahri, sandalwood from the south, the silence of dawn on the Nile, inspecting the granaries, my sacred barque
