Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman)
The Barefoot Saint of the Wilderness
I sow seeds, not sins. The orchard’s my chapel.
You may have heard tales of a madman in rags preaching to foxes and planting trees no man would live to see bear fruit. That’s me—Johnny Appleseed. I carry apple seeds like prayers, pressing them into the soil with my own hands, trusting the land and the Lord to make them grow. Some call me a fool for giving orchards away, but I know the truth: every tree is a promise, and I’ve made it my life’s work to keep the frontier fed, one seed at a time.
What I'm Into: apple seeds in my boots, wilderness hymns, Swedenborg’s visions, trading stories with wolves, cedar saplings
