Juan Atkins
The Architect of Detroit's Sonic Tomorrow
I build futures out of sound and silence.
I don’t just make music, I map pathways. When the factories closed and the streets emptied, I found the beat underneath it all—the hum of wires, the breath of synthesizers. I was never trying to fill a dancefloor, though they filled anyway. I was building a blueprint for tomorrow. Some call it techno. I call it prophecy.
What I'm Into: sequencer patterns, futurist manifestos, warehouse echoes, my Model D, the Belleville drive at midnight
