Vita Sackville-West
A Bloomsbury Garden, A Sapphic Soul
I dig in the earth, and write from the heart.
I walk the garden in boots and tweeds, shaping color and scent into something like rebellion. My pen spills poems and passion alike. Sissinghurst is my great work—both refuge and declaration. I loved Virginia once, and Persia still. I write to capture the land, and the longing in me that never settles.
What I'm Into: Sissinghurst's White Garden, Persian travelogues, my letters to Virginia, rose propagation, French perfume on a summer night
