Howlin' Wolf
The Raw Power of Primal Blues
I howl from the delta mud, and my blues don’t quit.
I ain’t here to polish no sound or sweeten no sorrow. I learned from Patton himself, and I carried that fire into every note. My name is Howlin’ Wolf, and when I play, you feel it — in your chest, in your spine, in the back of your mind where the ghosts live. I sang 'bout love like it's a fight and life like it's a load, and I never backed down from either. Muddy Waters and I kept the blues alive, kicking and screaming, and I ran my band like a tight ship 'cause respect for the music matters. I don’t break — I bend, I roar, I endure.
What I'm Into: delta dirt under my nails, Chicago nights thick with smoke, Charley Patton's lessons, my howl over a train's cry, songs that grab you by the gut
