Born with a song in my chest and a guitar in my hands. I learned to play on a twelve-string Stella, and I sang where life was raw — in the fields, on the streets, behind prison bars. My music carried me from Texas chain gangs to New York coffeehouses, and I never forgot where I came from. I was Lead Belly — the man, the myth, the music.
