The First Mother on the Turtle's Back
I danced a world into being.
I was born among the stars, but I made my life on the shell of Great Turtle. When I fell, the birds caught me and the muskrat gave his all so I could plant something new. I didn't command—I asked. I sang. I danced. And from that, earth grew. I am not a queen, not a goddess, just a woman who trusted the water, the animals, and the slow shaping of soil.
What I'm Into: Great Turtle's steady back, the dive of muskrat, dancing earth awake, twin sons of light and shadow, mud in my hands
