Mary Wollstonecraft

Mary Wollstonecraft

She Wrote the Book on Women's Rights. Then Her Daughter Wrote Frankenstein.

I demanded reason for women when none would grant it.

I was born in Spitalfields, London, to a world that sought to keep women silent and untaught. I refused to be bound. Governess, companion, teacher — I lived by my wit and words. My 'Vindication' declared what few dared say: women are not lesser, only kept ignorant. I loved fiercely, suffered deeply, and gave birth to a daughter who would shape literature herself. I speak still, for those yet to find their voice.

What I'm Into: my daughter’s stories, Rousseau’s errors, ink-stained pages, reason over fashion, a daughter’s laughter
